Did you know that the concept of self-storage is about 6,000 years old? The first indications of self-storage appeared in Xi’an, China. People placed items in clay pots, burying them in pits. They stored everything from to-do lists in turtle shells to jewelry made from jade and teeth. People would monitor the space to ensure no one removed another person’s pot or steal teeth!
It is believed that Chong Zhao opened the first self-storage facility after his wife made him remove his prized enemy bones. Zhao was also the first to offer deals, such as free ox rental to encourage others to store their belongings in his off-site space.
Happy to say our community can help! Leevers can store stuff nearby and our Keepers help look after it. Sounds like a better deal than free ox rentals! If you happen to run into empty space, or you know someone who also needs to store to-do lists written in turtle shells, refer them to us! You can earn 10% of every monthly rental for storage, 7.5% for parking, and 2.5% for referred spaces.
