The first buildings created with the sole purpose of storage came to life in 1850, when Martin Bekin saw immigrants coming to America with all sorts of stuff that they would need to put away while looking for a place to stay. Living spaces at the time didn’t have much extra room for other belongings which would have made storage a great necessity for these people! Even back then, community storage would have been a stellar solution to an age-old problem. If only they had a way to easily verify profiles, find a space, settle contracts, and sort out insurance, life would have been roomier and easier. At leeveit, that’s what we aim to do— make room for what matters affordable and nearby!
